Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book Tide Cottage?

We endeavour to keep our availability calendar (pictured left) up to date. It should be easy to send us your enquiry using the form on the left. When you finish filling in the form, it asks you to agree to Terms & Conditions before allowing you to continue with the booking enquiry, this allows us to provisionally reserve the booking for you. However it is not booked until you have paid the booking fee by cheque or bank transfer. How to pay will be detailed in an email sent to you by our system.

I am having trouble with the booking form. Is there another way to contact you?

If you're having difficulty using the form, do feel free to email tidecottage1@gmail.com with the dates you are interested in and we will reply as soon as we possibly can. In your email, please let us know the following:

Number of adults

Number of children

Address

Phone number

Is there a booking fee?

The booking fee is £50 per week. It is due once you have confirmed that you would like to come. Until you have paid the booking fee your desired dates will be marked as reserved. The full amount for your booking (less the booking fee) will be due eight weeks before your holiday date.

Do you accept credit cards or Paypal?

We regret that we do not offer this service at this time. Payments are taken via cheque or bank transfer. We will email the details upon receipt of your booking enquiry.

What if I have to cancel my booking?

The booking fee is non-refundable - however we will refund any other amounts you have paid in full if you contact us at least two months before your booking date. If you cancel less than two months before, we will try to re-sell the booking. A discretionary refund is only possible if we are successful.

What time can we arrive and when should we leave?

Please arrive after 3pm on your first day to give the changeover team a chance to get the cottage ready for you. You should leave the cottage by 10am on your departure date.

What is included in the price?

The price includes gas/central heating, towels and linen, and wireless broadband. The cottage is equipped with a double oven, fridge freezer, washer, power shower, dishwasher, microwave oven and other conveniences.

Is Tide Cottage wheelchair/disabled friendly?

Tide Cottage is a bungalow and all rooms are on the same level. However entry by wheelchair is only possible via the front door as the back door has a small step and a porch. The electric sockets are at wheelchair height because its previous owner was a wheelchair user. The power shower is over a bath. We have installed grab rails over the bath. It is possible to travel all the way to the village via wheelchair on the coastal path, although this is not possible during exceptionally high tides when the sea covers the path. It is possible to wheel all the way to Nore Barn Woods on the coastal path in the opposite direction though there is a short distance of shingle beach and of course, the limitations caused by the tide.

Can we bring a boat or windsurfer?

Tide Cottage has a large front garden where you can keep a small dinghy or windsurfer. There is a launching slipway near the bottom of our road.
